Indigenous People Trekking Trail
Day 1: Kathmandu – Sailung (Khola Kharka) - 8 hrs drive The Starting Point of trip is from Kathmandu. The bus will take you through the Araniko Highway till Mudhe where you will have Lunch. Then the drive goes through the lovely Tamang village. Then by the evening you will reach at Kholakahrka. You will spend the night at Community lodge.
Day 2: Sailung - Raj Veer Gomba - 4 hrs walk You wake up early in the morning to climb the summit of Thulo Sailung to see the sun rising over the Himalayas. At 3,146 m, Sailung offers magnificent views of the Annapurna, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Rowaling, Everest and Kanchenjunga ranges. To the south the Mahabharata hills rolling over the Sun Koshi River sliding down to the Terai lowlands. Thulo Sailung is regarded by the Tamang as the abode of their territorial deity, Sailung Phoi Sibda. Then return back to the lodge, take breakfast and departure. The trail leads you to Rajveer. Spend the night at Home stay.
Day 3 Raj Veer – Surke - 4hrs walk After breakfast, we will walk down to the forest which makes trip interesting. We will see a wide variety of native trees, shrubs and bird species. Tourists are welcomed at Rajveer monastery to receive a blessing from the Lamas. Along the way we will pass through the Sherpa village and the Tamang village, each having their own unique Buddhist Gompas. Prayer flags, Chortens and Mani stones scattering along the route.Spend the night at Home stay.
Day 4 Surke – Doramba - 4hrs walk After breakfast, the trail continues gradually up through the lovely Tamang village, the forest covered hillside then through the terraced fields. Stop for the night at Doramba where Tamang Helmo people lives. In the evening you will observe the cultural programs showed by the villagers. Spend the night at Home stay.
Day 5 Doramba - Dongme - 5hrs walk Early in the morning take breakfast and walk ascent to the view point of Hiledevi from where you will see Sunkoshi Valley with a beautiful mountains. Then walk down through the Tamang village to Lubughat. This village is just beside the Sunkoshi River, you can go to swim on the river, and you can enjoy fishing on the river as well. After the dinner the local people will perform the traditional cultural program. Spend the night in the community lodge.
Day 6 Lubighat – Kathmandu - 3hrs drive After breakfast start the last day of trekking for one hour and then take bus from Nepalthok to Kathmandu which takes almost 3 hours to reach.
