Balthali Village Walk in Nepal
Day1: Kathmandu Arrival - 1300m Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel by our representative.
Day2: Kathmandu Sightseeing After breakfast, full day sightseeing at UNESCO Heritage Sites. Sightseeing at Pasupatinath Temple, Swayambhu, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Bouddha Stupa
Day 3: Kathmandu - Balthali Village Resort - 1hr drive & 1/2 hr walk A one-hour drive from Kathmandu takes you to the historical and holy city of Panauti. Here you can see the 800 years old Hindu Temple of Indreshwor, famous for its woodcarvings. You will also be able to see the statue of Bishnu, the Sun god Surya and the moon God Chandra. This is an opportunity to visit the Local Ghats (crematourium). Panauti has been totally restored by donations from France. A scenic drive of about 4km takes away you to Khopasi where your luggage will be transported to the resort by our hotel staff. Either, you can them walk for about an hour up to the resort, or for those who like walking, a three hour stroll through the paddy fields up to the resort can be arranged from Panauti.
Day 4: Walking Around Village This morning your tour begin by walking through the terraced fields until you reach Namobuddha Stupa, one of the holy site for Buddhist in Nepal. It is believed that the ancient Buddha was born here as a Prince. From here you have wonderful views of Gaurishankar Himal and many other magnificent Himalayas. Then return to the resort crossing the Roshi Khola River via a suspension bridge.
Day 5: Balthali After breakfast trail down to Ladku Khola where you will have an opportunity to see the seasonal fishing activities of the villagers. Then walk towards Lukuwa Danda(1800m) for a bird eye view of the whole Balthali. Village area and the spectacular Himalayas, stretching form the Annapurna in the west to Everest in the east. Also the tick greenery of the Mahbharat forest range stands right in front of you. A trial through the bushy undergrowth brings you back to resort.
Day 6: Balthali Village 5 hours walk Today you will visit typical Tamnag village, Dada Gaun, where a Buddhist community lives. It is very traditional and secluded from the modern world; here people and animals live together side by side. Then walk to Pada Gaun (2110m) form where you have an extremely good view of the whole Himalayan range to north and beautiful green forest of Mahabharat. Then walk to Karthali a hamlet of nature, and follow the banks of the ladku river back to the resort.
Day 7: Balthali Village 3 hours walk After breakfast, an easy walk through the paddy and maize fields takes you to a Shanyashi (holy man) village, Mahanta Tole. Then a walk to Khyaku and up again to Kamala Devi hill temple for stunning views of the terse field and typical village. An easy stroll brings back to the resort to enjoy rest and relaxation for the rest of the days.
Day 8: Balthali Vilalge 3 hours walk After breakfast, descent to the junction of two rivers Roshi and Ladku Khola. Take a small rest to grasp a beautiful natural setting near by. Holy shrine of Lord Shiva and traditional maize- mill are to visit here. Ascent to the typical Tamang village Neupane, which makes you experience the life style of Nepalese people in the hilly regions. Then return to the resort crossing the Ladku Khola via a long suspension bridge.
Day 9: Kathmandu - Balthali After breakfast, drive to Kathmandu.
