Detail Itinerary

1Day 1 - Arrival in Kathmandu: 1400m altitude: around 30 minutes' drive to Hotel

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu and meet, assist and transfer to the hotel by our representative. Welcome drinks on arrival and briefing of tour program by one of the representatives from Aarya Village Travel.

2Day 2 - Drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap (B, D)

After breakfast, you can start your journey by heading out of Kathmandu on the Arniko Highway. The first part of the journey takes you through the suburban areas of the city, but as you move further away from the city, the road becomes more winding and steep. The drive can be challenging at times due to the narrow and winding roads, but the stunning views make it all worthwhile. Along the way, you can stop at various viewpoints to admire the beautiful landscapes and take pictures.

3Day 3 - Fly Manthali -Lukla: 20-25 minutes: Trek to Phakding (2,652m): 3- 4 hours walk (B, L, D)

After breakfast in Ramechhap, take a 1-2 hour drive to Manthali airport and catch a 20-25 minute flight to Lukla. From there, begin your trek to Phakding which takes around 3-4 hours and offers stunning views of the Dudh Koshi River, green forests, and the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas. Phakding is an ideal overnight stop for trekkers heading to Everest Base Camp, and is a great place to explore the Sherpa culture and traditions. The trek from Lukla to Phakding is a perfect way to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region, and is an excellent starting point for your trek to Everest Base Camp.

4Day 4 - Phakding -Namche - (3,440m): 6-7 hours walk (B, L, D)

Today the journey starts after breakfast. To reach Namche we have to walk through Tok-Tok, Mamju, Jorsalle. The journey from Phakding to Jorsalle is quite easy. There is Everest National Park at Manju, here we have to check in at the first checkpoint. After an hour walk along the bank of the Dudh Koshi River we reach Jorsalle where we have breakfast. There are no shops available between Jorsalle to Namche. From Jorsalle we have to cross the Dudh Koshi River and bridge. After the bridge there is a steep route we have to follow. If the weather is clear we can see Mount Everest from Thami danda. We can see many beautiful mountains, waterfalls, and Mane on the way. Namche is situated at 3440m altitude and the weather is colder here. We can see different mountains from Namche. Namche is the biggest commercial area of Everest Region where we can find everything needed for Trekkers like internet facility, ATM. But sometimes due to technical reasons the ATM does not work. Every Friday to Saturday a special type of fair is held here. Bakery cafe and Pub are also available in Namche.

5Day 5 - Acclimatization: Short hike to Khumjung village (B, L, D)

Acclimatization should be taken seriously as high altitudes affect travelers differently. We can take a short hike of 5-6 hours for which we have to walk up a steep ascent from Namche to Syangboche then to Everest View Hotel and then on to Khumjung where we can have lunch. At Khumjung we can also see the Monastery and the school made by Sir Edmund Hilary. During this hike we will get a chance to see many beautiful mountains. You can also visit Sherpa Museum located at Namche. After a day hiking we return to Namche, have dinner and stay overnight.

6Day 6 - Namche to Thame 3884m 4-5 hour walk (B, L,D)

We will Trek clockwise direction of Everest Base Camp following the West Bhotekoshi river valley towards Nyangpala Pass a gateway of Tibet-Nepal traditional way. These valleys have a high profile of mountaineers and have set records on climbing histories since the first ascent to Mt. Everest by Late Tenzing Norgay to Appa Sherpa who climbed Everest 21 times. Every citizen from thame has climbed the Mt. Everest.

7Day 7 - Exploration Day (Explore monastery, meet small priest and explore village) (B,L,D)

Today guest will explore the local community and surrounding areas. Every citizen from Thame has climbed Mt. Everest. Guest will visit the oldest monastery and interaction with the Priest.

8Day 8 - Thame to Lumde (4380m) 4-5 hour walk (B, L, D)

Today we will start to climb back up to higher altitude heading up the valley called Lungden. Make sure you have your camera at the ready as the higher you go the views across the snow-capped peaks in the region just get better and better. It is a short day trek from Thame to Lungden takes about 4 hours in the direction of the Nangpa La, the glaciated pass on the Nepal Tibet border.

9Day 9 - Lumde to Gokyo Via Renjo La pass 5388m 7-8 hours (B, L, D)

Today we will encounter the first of the Three Passes – Renjo La. The route starts off gently but will soon turn into a hard day of hiking as we near the end of the ascent to Renjo La. Try to think of the magnificent views you will get at the top to motivate you! After the pass, we will descend to the third of the beautiful turquoise Gokyo Lakes and then trek onto the village of Gokyo for the night.

10Day 10 - Gokyo Ri (Acclimatization Day) 5485m 3-4 hours (B, L, D)

Today you climb your first peak, Gokyo Ri, for acclimatization and fabulous views of Cho Oyu Mountaian. We start the climb early and then have the rest of the day to rest to help our acclimatisation. If we still have energy, then later in the day we can hike up some of the surrounding moraine ridges and enjoy the views.

11Day 11 - Gokyo to Thaknak 4750m 3-4 hours walk (B, L, D)

We leave Gokyo to cross the Ngozumpa Glacier. We descend to the second lake and drop down onto the glacier. The route across the glacier is marked by cairns and is generally quite well defined. We climb off the glacier and follow a shallow valley to Tragnag.

12Day 12 - Thanknak to Zungla via Cho La Pass 5420m 7-8 hours walk (B, L, D)

An early start is required today to cross the Cho La Pass and make the long descent to Dzongla. Continuing up the valley, we cross a ridge and an old lateral moraine, before beginning the rocky scramble to the pass. From the top there are excellent views, across to the Rolwaling Valley in the west and Ama Dablam to the south east. The descent from here involves crossing a small glacier which is fairly straightforward. There are more excellent views of Ama Dablam and Cholatse as we descend.

13Day 13 - Zungla to Lobuche 4928m 3-4 hrs walk (B, L, D)

The way to Lobuche contours the grassy slopes above a lake, the Tshola Tsho, to join up with the main Everest trail from Pheriche and Tengboche. The trail flattens out and follows the valley on the west side of the Khumbu Glacier to Lobuche.

14Day 14 - Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5,170 m) 3-4 hrs walk : Excursion to Everest Base Camp (5,364m): 4-5 hrs (B, L, D)

The trail to Gorak Shep goes through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. We pass through the pyramid sign post. Ahead on the trail we see the crest of the north ridge of Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. A small ascent will take us to Thangma Riju from where we observe 360 degree vista of snowy mountains. Climbing steeply up to the top through the torrent of Changri Glacier, we catch our first glimpse of Kala Patthar, a grey-green knoll beneath the Mt. Pumori. As we reach Gorak Shep, we will find snow-capped mountains looming all around us including the top of the world - Mt. Everest. After a brief lunch and rest, we take the trail to Everest Base Camp through the once vast Gorak Shep Lake.

A fascinating sight are the colourful tents standing out against the grey backdrop of the mountains and landscape. From the base camp we can view Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori. Everest actually is not visible from here. By now we have accomplished the ultimate objective of our trip.

Today is the climax of our trip. We start early in the morning to catch the dramatic views from Kala Patthar and witness the first light of day caress the peaks of the mountains, particularly, Mt. Everest. However, we need to be prepared for an early morning departure, amid predawn darkness and cold temperature (-10 to -14 C). Further, there is always the potential for chilly winds which are quite common. Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself. During the ascent to Kala Patthar, we can pause to catch our breaths at several outstanding view points from where we can snap great pictures. After several hours of ascent, we reach Kala Patthar. From kala Patthar, we scramble up to the top of a rocky outcrop marked by cairns and prayer flags. Mind-blowing Himalayan panorama unfolds before us as our eyes wander from one mighty massif to another. We can take as many pictures as we want with our camera but do not forget to imprint the vista into our mind's eye so that it lasts a lifetime. 16Day 16 - Trek to Chukung via Kongma La pass (5535m) 8 to 9 hrs walk (B, L, D)

We leave the classic base camp route today as we head east through the Khumbu Glacier to reach the third and final pass of the trip - Kongma La. At 5,535m the pass is the highest of the three. The route leads to another absolute wilderness away from the main trekking area, the trek follows the upper moraine. We walk carefully to climb and cross the glacier and reach nearby the Nuptse wall. Steady climb toward the Kongmala pass 5535 meters the highest pass on our trip, the walk leads higher up and then descending towards the glacier pond and the walk leads to the Chukung village.

17Day 17 - Chukhung to Pangoche (3940m) 4 to 5 hrs walk (B, L, D)

Descend the windy trail to Pangboche passing the beautiful village Dingboche set on the Imjatse valley. After late lunch, there will be still spare time to explore the oldest monastery in Khumbu valley.

18Day 18 - Pangboche to Manjoo 4-5 hrs walk (B, L, D)

Descend steeply through beautiful forest of juniper, rhododendron and fir. Cross the Dudh Kosi River here the trail contours high above the valley through Shanasa and on to Namche Bazaar, before descending steeply down to the large suspension bridge over the Dudh Kosi River.

You've done it, your last day of trekking! Today we walk back to Lukla via Benkar through blue pine and rhododendron forest, with great views of Kusum Kangaru. It's only a short walk from here in the valley before making the final climb up to Lukla, Celebrate with a hot shower and a few drinks with your group before flying back to Kathmandu tomorrow morning.

20Day 20 - Fly back to Manthali airport: 20-25 min flights and drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will take a 20-25 minute flight from Lukla to Manthali airport, followed by a 4-5 hour drive back to Kathmandu. The drive takes you through scenic countryside and small villages, offering a glimpse into the rural way of life in Nepal. The road is winding and can be bumpy in some sections, but the views of the Himalayas and the lush green landscape make the journey well worth it.

Once you arrive back in Kathmandu, you can reflect on your incredible trek and take some time to explore the city's rich culture and history. Whether you visit ancient temples, sample local cuisine, or shop for souvenirs, Kathmandu is sure to leave a lasting impression on you.
